CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© Training

Use your experience in addiction and recovery to gain a professional job helping others. If you have experience with substance use and recovery and have ever wanted to work in the recovery field, this is the path for you.

Join Catholic Charities of Baltimore to become a trained peer recovery specialist through this MABPCB approved training.

When you complete the intensive five-day CCAR Recovery Coach Academy©, you will be able to:

• Describe the recovery coach role and functions
• List the components, core values and guiding principles of recovery
• Build skills to enhance relationships
• Explore many dimensions of recovery and recovery coaching
• Discover attitudes about self-disclosure and sharing your story
• Understand the stages of recovery
• Describe the stages of change and their applications
• Increase their awareness of culture, power and privilege
• Address ethical and boundaries issues
• Experience recovery wellness planning
• Practice newly acquired skills

This is an MABPCB-approved training.
Eligible for 30 CEUs upon completion: (Advocacy: 7.5 hours; Ethics: 9 hours; Education: 5.25 hours; Wellness/Recovery: 8.25 hours)

Dr. Matthew Desmond, Pulitzer prize-winning author of “Evicted: Poverty and Profit in America,” asserted that poverty can truly be eliminated. But it will require changes in law, habits and attitudes, he said during Catholic Charities of Baltimore’s second Journey to Social Justice symposium Oct. 9.
