Donor-Advised Fund

Make an impact directly from your donor-advised fund to support Catholic Charities!

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a simple, tax-efficient way to support our work. Recommend a grant to Catholic Charities of Baltimore through your DAF – and begin making a real and immediate impact on the lives of our neighbors!

Why Give Through Your DAF?

How a Donor-Advised Fund Works

1. Establish Your Fund

You make an initial, irrevocable contribution of cash, stock, or other eligible assets to a DAF through a sponsoring financial organization.

2. Your DAF assets grow tax-free, allowing you to give more over time.

Contributions to a DAF may be eligible for an immediate charitable tax deduction, subject to applicable tax rules. Once contributed, the assets can be invested and grow tax-free.

3. You recommend gifts to be made from your DAF to support nonprofits of your choice, when the time is right for you.

When you are ready to give, you can recommend grants from your DAF to eligible nonprofits, including Catholic Charities of Baltimore.

4. Give on your schedule.

A DAF gives you the flexibility to support organizations throughout the year, respond to emerging needs, or plan your charitable giving over time.

Using a DAF for Future Impact at Catholic Charities

Most DAF sponsors allow you to designate which charities will receive the remaining balance of your DAF after your passing. This is a very simple way to make a legacy gift to us! To do so, contact your DAF sponsor for a beneficiary form and designate your DAF remainder (or a portion thereof) to Catholic Charities of Baltimore. You may need to provide our tax ID (52-0591538) and our legal name (Associated Catholic Charities Inc).

When you designate Catholic Charities of Baltimore to receive a testamentary gift from your DAF, please let us know! Sharing your intentions will ensure that your gift will be used as you wish down the road. Plus, we would like the opportunity to thank you for your generosity!

To learn more about making a testamentary gift from your DAF or to share that you are making such a gift,
