Catholic Charities Names Annemarie Reilly Chief Strategy Officer

Veteran global nonprofit executive will help guide agency strategy, organizational development and mission advancement

BALTIMORE (October 29, 2026) — Catholic Charities announced today that Annemarie Reilly will join the agency as chief strategy officer, formally beginning on November 16.

In this newly announced leadership role, Reilly will help translate Catholic Charities’ mission and long-term priorities into coordinated action across the agency. She is expected to guide strategic planning and execution, strengthen organizational development and performance, and work with leaders to increase engagement of stakeholders and advance the agency’s mission to improve the lives of Marylanders in need.

“Annemarie brings exceptional experience leading strategy and complex operations in service to people and communities around the world,” said Dave Kinkopf, executive director of Catholic Charities. “Her collaborative leadership and commitment to human dignity will help us build on our strengths, sharpen our priorities and expand our impact for Marylanders.”

Reilly joins Catholic Charities after three decades with Catholic Relief Services, most recently serving as executive vice president for global operations. In that role, she oversaw human resources, supply chain management, information and communications technology, legal, strategy and organization development.

During her career with CRS, Reilly served in El Salvador, Haiti, Burundi, Liberia, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia and the United States in a variety of roles spanning humanitarian and development programs and operations.

“I am excited and honored to join Catholic Charities and to serve the organization’s vital mission in the Archdiocese I call home,” Reilly said. “I look forward to listening, learning and working alongside colleagues throughout the agency to strengthen the ways we serve our neighbors.”

Reilly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and French from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, with specializations in Economic and Political Development and Latin American Studies.

Following the retirement of advocacy director Val Twanmoh, Catholic Charities is also restructuring its program and advocacy functions. As part of this change, oversight of programs and advocacy support will be brought together under Chief Operations Officer Ashley Valis. Valis, who has served as COO for five years and previously as assistant chief of staff to Governor Martin O’Malley, brings valuable experience and insight to the agency’s advocacy work in Annapolis and around Maryland.
